Canadian Red Cross Swim Kids
The Camrose Aquatic Centre is now offering Red Cross Swim Kids swimming lessons.
The Red Cross program offers more levels to allow children to progress more consistently.
The Red Cross offers quality report cards, glossy stickers for preschool levels and badges for swimmer levels. Your child will also receive a certificate and medal when they complete all 10 levels of Swim Kids.
The Red Cross emphasizes water safety in all levels.
Infant and Preschool Lessons
Children 4 months to 6 years can register in the Red Cross Swim Preschool program. Children under 3 years are in the parented levels whereas children over 3 years are typically non-parented. The Instructors use fun, songs and games to get the children comfortable in the water, teach basic to more advanced swim skills and water safety. Once children are 5 years old, they can continue in the preschool program or they can transfer into the Red Cross Swim Kids program.
Children ages 5 -12 years old can register in the Red Cross Swim Kids program. There are ten levels in Swim Kids. Through these lessons, kids learn to swim, work on strokes, endurance and water safety.
Adult and Teen Lessons
Adult and teen lessons are for anyone ages 12 years to adult. We have levels from learn to swim to stroke development.
Call the Camrose Aquatic Centre to find out what level to register your child in. We will find your level, even if you were previously in another program, or you can check the transition chart.
