Planning & Development

Overview
Planning Services are responsible for coordinating land use to ensure growth and development occurs in an organized, rational manner while maintaining
and enhancing the quality of life.

This is accomplished through long range plans, initiatives such as the Municipal Development Plan, Area Structure Plan, and Land Use Bylaw, Policies, Procedures, and Regulations.

Planning Services reviews applications and ensures compliance with current legislation.

  • City Council approved amendments to Land Use By-Law #2567/07:  By-Law #2655/10 New Land Use District-AG (Agricultural District) and By-Law #2656/10 Redesignation for Newly Annexed Lands.

  • First Reading was given on July 19,2010 for By-Law #2658/10, amending Land Use   By-Law #2567/07: Subdivision of Lot 5, Block 1, Plan 052-2394 into 2 lots and Redesignation from I (Institutional) to R4 (High Density Multi-Family Residential District)  OPEN HOUSE to be held on August 10, 2010 at Mirror Lake Centre, 3:30pm-4:30pm. Public Hearing for 2nd and 3rd Readings on August 16, 2010 at City Hall, Council Chambers.
