City of Camrose Implements Stage 2 Water Restrictions to Conserve Resources

The City of Camrose has activated Stage 2 of its Water Shortage Response Plan, instituting mandatory water restrictions effective immediately to ensure sustainable water usage during current conditions.
Under Stage 2, residents are required to adhere to specific watering schedules:
- Lawns may only be watered between 6 AM to 9 AM and 7 PM to 11 PM.
- Odd-numbered houses may water only on odd-numbered days.
- Even-numbered houses may water only on even-numbered days.

Every year, the City of Camrose hosts our highly anticipated Household Hazardous Waste Roundups in June and October. This year, in partnership with Alberta Recycling, Camrose County, and the Village of Bittern Lake, the event has expanded and been renamed the "Recycling Roundup" to reflect an extended collection list. Protect Our Elm Trees

Edmonton has recently identified its first cases of Dutch elm disease (DED), a threat that is now close to home. DED is caused by a fungus spread among elm trees through their roots and by specific species of bark beetles that carry the fungus from tree to tree.
Pruning of elm trees is restricted from April 1 to September 30 each year. This precaution is crucial because pruning releases a scent that attracts the elm bark beetle. DED can devastate a tree in as little as three weeks.
