City of Camrose Receives Funding from the Government of Alberta for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

MLA Jackie Lovely visited the Camrose Wastewater Treatment facility on July 3, 2020 to announce that the City’s funding application under the Alberta Municipal Water/Wastewater Partnership (AMWWP) program has been approved for $10.2 million for planned upgrades to the facility.

MLA Lovely emphasized the importance of investing in rural Alberta and that the Alberta Government has recently allocated $137 million in AMWWP funding to various water and wastewater projects across the province.

City of Camrose Updates Timing of Traffic Signals

In 2019, the City of Camrose and Stantec Consulting completed a review of the traffic signals within the City. Prior to this, the City hadn’t substantially changed its traffic signal plans in over 20 years.

Stantec reviewed the existing pedestrian and traffic signal timings for each of the intersections with signals along 48 Avenue and compared those against current traffic and pedestrian volumes. The City and Stantec then developed five new traffic signal plans to reflect the typical traffic demands...

Council Approves Non-Motorized Recreation on Local Water Bodies

Council approved a policy that allows City of Camrose bodies of water to be open to the public for non-motorized recreation from the beginning of May to the end of September from 7:00 AM to dusk or 10:00 PM (whichever is sooner).
