Recreational Cannabis in Camrose

On September 4, City Council passed bylaws that will regulate how recreational cannabis will be sold within the City of Camrose.
As per Provincial regulations and City of Camrose bylaws, any cannabis retail store must be at least 100 metres (330 feet) away from any site being used for a Provincial Health Facility or public or private education facility.
Cannabis retail stores must refuse entry to minors as well as any person who appears to be intoxicated or impaired or whose behaviour becomes disorderly....

City of Camrose Selected for Two Rural Transit Pilot Projects

Two pilot projects, expected to be up and running this fall, will be coming to the Camrose region. Albertans in the Camrose region will now have better access to public transportation thanks to a new provincial pilot program.
Over a two year period, the City of Camrose will be receiving more than $450,000 to establish a regular bus shuttle service between Camrose and Edmonton and more than $137,000 to implement a ride-sharing service between rural communities around Camrose.

City of Camrose Receives Smoke-Free Spaces Recognition Award

Sixteen Alberta municipalities, school boards and post-secondary institutions received the Smoke-Free Spaces Recognition Award for approving comprehensive smoke-free bylaws and policies in their communities, school districts and on their campuses.
