School zones are changing in Camrose!
Due to inconsistent and sometimes confusing school zone times and signage, the City of Camrose collaborated with local schools and school boards to develop a clearer plan for school zone speed limits within the city.
Starting on September 3, 2024 (the first day of classes for students at local schools), school zone hours throughout Camrose will be from 07:30 to 16:30 on every school day.

The Camrose Regional Solid Waste Authority has transferred ownership of the Camrose Regional Landfill to GFL Environmental Inc., the long-time operator of the Landfill.

Following a recommendation from the Community Transit Advisory Committee, Council approved the elimination of bus fares, starting on July 2nd, in alignment with the launch of the new route.
By not charging bus fares, we hope to:
- Help eliminate barriers to transit use
- Reduce the risks to drivers by eliminating the need to handle cash or have cash on board
- Reduce administrative costs associated with managing cash
- Reduce infrastructure costs required to transition to a cashless system
