The staff at the City of Camrose diligently monitors our facilities through routine maintenance and upkeep. It had been noted a few years ago that the original boilers put in the Encana arena were becoming very old and inefficient. In an effort to do our part in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, we saw the opportunity to upgrade the boilers, and possibly receive a refund of a portion of the install costs back from the Municipal Climate Change Action Committee (MCCAC).

New Hours for Recycle with Centra Cam Facility

The Recycle with Centra Cam facility will now be open 24 HOURS/DAY.
The facility will only be closed:
- Dec 24 – Noon to Dec 27 – 8am
- Dec 31 – Noon to Jan 2 – 8am
The facility will be staffed Mondays to Saturdays, 8am – 4pm (but not on holidays).
Please note that special drop offs such as paint (latex and oil), phone books, car batteries and household alkaline batteries, and fluorescent tubes (4' and 8') can be dropped off but only during staffed hours.

The City of Camrose will be lowering its flags on Monday, May 31, 2021 to honour and recognize the passing of the 215 Indigenous children buried at the Kamloops Residential School.

City of Camrose Implements "Prohibition on Feeding Deer" Bylaw

The City of Camrose will be implementing a “Prohibition on Feeding Deer" Bylaw effective immediately. This Bylaw has been put in place to stop residents from actively feeding deer as a way to help lessen interactions with these wild animals.

Fines for Feeding Deer:
- First Offense - $75.00
- Second Offense - $150.00
- Subsequent Offenses - $300.00

City of Camrose Addresses Traffic Signal Timing Concerns

In 2019, the City of Camrose and Stantec Consulting completed a review of the traffic signals within the City. Prior to that study with Stantec, the City hadn’t substantially changed its traffic signal plans in over 20 years. As part of this review, Stantec examined the existing pedestrian and traffic signal timings for each of the signalized intersections along 48 avenue and compared those against current traffic and pedestrian volumes.
