In accordance with our Nuisance Abatement Bylaw, no one is allowed to cause a noise which may be a nuisance between the hours of 11:00 p.m. in the afternoon of one day and 7:00 a.m. of the next day. A noise means any sound which, is or is considered to be:

  • Sharp or piecing;
  • Shrill, or explosive;
  • Unnecessarily loud or persistent and/or annoying, but shall not include a sound intended to warn persons of danger or an emergency; or
  • Operate any engine or motor powered machine used for gardening, or landscaping or on lawns between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am.

No occupant of any property within the City shall make, or allow another person within or on their property to make, any noise which may be a nuisance. Any breach of this bylaw may result in the Enforcement Officer ordering the occupant and any other person found therein to cease causing the noise, a warning being issued or a fine ranging from $150.00 to $500.00.
