Bridge Assessment Study |

Land Use Bylaw |

The Land Use Bylaw 3222-22 regulates the use of land and buildings and establishes standards for development within the City in accordance with the policies of the Municipal Development Plan. Throughout 2022, Administration worked with ISL Engineering and Land Services Ltd. to review and update Land Use Bylaw 2929-17, as amended. On December 5, 2022, Camrose City Council passed Land Use Bylaw 3222-22. Some noticeable changes include the following sections:

Bylaw 3177-21 was approved by Council on August 3, 2021, which amended the Municipal Development Plan to include the Railway Junction Intermunicipal Area Structure Plan. |

Off-Site Levies |
|
The City of Camrose has adopted the following Bylaw's to establish Off-Site Levies. Bylaw 3290-23 - Establish Off-Site Levies for the City of Camrose and Camrose County in the Coordinated Service Areas Bylaw 3289-23 - Establish Off-Site Levies for the City of Camrose What are Off-Site Levies? In accordance with the Municipal Government Act, municipalities may use off-site levies to recover the expenses of constructing new infrastructure, including sanitary, water, and transportation systems. Each hectare of property in the City shall be subject to the off-site levy when its subdivision application is approved or when a development permit is issued. Off-site levies will apply to all developable property, with the exception of areas that have been set aside as environmental reserves, municipal reserves, or arterial roads right of way. Public Washroom Assessment |
|
Administration worked with McElhanney Consulting to complete an assessment of all temporary and permanent public washroom facilities in Camrose. The findings of the Public Washroom Study and Assessment will assist with future maintenance schedules and determining where new washrooms are needed. In total, the study recommends adding 5 portable washrooms and one new permanent facility. Overall, the Study found that the City has done a thorough job of providing public washrooms at key locations that are visible and within walking distances of trails and amenities for both residents and visitors of the City. |

The City of Camrose in partnership with Camrose County undertook the development of an Intermunicipal Area Structure Plan (ASP) which guides future growth and development of lands located in the southeastern area of the City, including lands located in the County. |
