To vote in the 2025 municipal election in Camrose, you must be:
- At least 18 years of age;
- A Canadian citizen; and
- A resident of the City of Camrose.
Register to Vote
All voters must be on the permanent Electors Registry. Prior to August 15, voters must register to vote by visiting Voterlink.
After August 15, voters must complete an Elector Register Form at a Voting Station.
Voter Identification
OPTION ONE - If your name appears on the permanent electors register
Eligible voters can use one piece of ID issued by a Canadian government, whether federal, provincial or local, or an agency of that government, that contains a photograph of the person. For example, a driver's license, an Alberta ID card or a Canadian passport.
OPTION TWO - If you are not on the permanent electors register, or you are, but do not have government-issued photo ID
Eligible voters can use one piece of identification issued by a Canadian government, whether federal, provincial or local, or an agency of that government, that contains a photograph of the person, the person’s name and the address of the person’s residence.
OR
One piece of identification from the list below that contains the person’s name and current address.
OR
One piece of identification from the list below that contains the person’s name and an eligible voter to vouch, who meets requirements below and completes Form 14 Statement of Voucher.
Acceptable ID
Proof of identity and current residence is required to be able to vote in municipal elections. Any of the following documents that has your name and address on it will be accepted as valid proof:
- Photo identification issued by a Canadian government agency, whether federal, provincial or local;
- Bank/credit card statement or personal cheque;
- Government cheque or cheque stub;
- Income/property tax assessment notice;
- Insurance policy or coverage card;
- Letter from a public curator, public guardian or public trustee;
- Pension Plan statement of benefits, contributions or participation;
- Residential lease or mortgage statement;
- Statement of government benefits: eg. Employment insurance, old age security, social assistance, disability support, or child tax benefit;
- Utility bill: eg. Telephone, public utilities commission, television, electricity, gas or water;
- Vehicle ownership, registration or insurance certificate; or
- A letter or form (attestation) confirming that the person lives at the stated address. The letter can be signed by any of the following
- authorized representative of a commercial property management company;
- authorized representative of a correctional institution;
- authorized representative of a First Nations band or reserve;
- authorized representative of a post-secondary institution;
- authorized representative of a facility that provides services to the homeless; or
- authorized representative of a support living facility or treatment centre;
