Alberta Community Disability Services Professional Appreciation Week Proclamation

Over 15,000 people are employed in the Community Disability Services sector in the province of Alberta. Having a disability is often isolating for individuals, and it is critical we support this sector and its employees to make sure every citizen is given the opportunity to live rich, meaningful lives in their communities through access to services.

Disability service professionals are valued for the positive impact their work has on the lives of people with disabilities and their families. Camrose organizations supporting those with disabilities recognize the important work of Alberta Disability Workers Association (ADWA) for its advocacy in raising awareness of this essential workforce.

Therefore, Mayor PJ Stasko proclaims May 18 - May 24, 2026 as Alberta Community Disability Services Professional Appreciation Week throughout the City of Camrose.
