Introduction of New Staff
City Manager, Malcolm Boyd, introduced Ashley Crocker, who has just joined the City as the new General Manager of Finance. Welcome, Ashley!
Presentation - STARS Air Ambulance
Glenda Farnden from STARS Air Ambulance provided an update to Council and requested that Council consider increasing its financial support. Council will discuss the request further during upcoming budget deliberations.
Presentation - Camrose Arts Council Budget Request
The Camrose Arts Council requested that Council consider increasing its annual grant allocation to support arts and culture grant programs. Council will discuss the request further during future budget deliberations.
Presentation - Elk Island Catholic School Division
Representatives from Elk Island Catholic School Division presented the proposed St. Carlo Acutis Field and Recreation Development project to Council, including potential partnership opportunities with the City of Camrose and a request for funding support. Council will discuss the request further during future budget deliberations.
Fire Master Plan Mid Term Review
Fire Chief Eric Graham provided Council with updates on each of the City’s 2020 Fire Department Master Plan key recommendations. He reported progress in areas such as firefighter training, equipment replacement, emergency partnerships, and public education. The Fire Department is also continuing efforts to recruit more paid-on-call firefighters and improve communications with other emergency responders. Some long-term initiatives, including a potential second fire station, will require further review as the community grows. A full update of the Master Plan is planned for 2030.
Public Engagement Policy
Council reviewed a draft Public Engagement Policy that has been updated to reflect current municipal practices and provide clearer direction on how the City approaches public engagement. The draft outlines when public engagement is required or should be considered, emphasizes meaningful public input and informed decision-making, and is supported by new administrative procedures, templates, and tools to guide implementation.
The Policy will be brought back to a future Regular Council Meeting for approval.

Regular Council Meeting Highlights
Recycling Bylaw
Council gave all three readings to Bylaw 3415-26 Recycling Bylaw. The new Bylaw explains how recycling services will work, what residents can recycle, how materials should be prepared and set out for collection, and the responsibilities of both residents and the City. It also clarifies existing rules related to recycling fees, billing, and enforcement.
Proclamation Request - National Tree Day
Council authorized the Mayor to proclaim September 23, 2026, as National Tree Day.
Recreation Centre Naming Rights
Council authorized Administration to enter into a agreement for naming rights for the Camrose Recreation Centre as discussed in Closed Session.
