Day of Mourning Proclamation

April 28 is observed across Canada and other countries around the world as the Day of Mourning for workers who have been killed, suffered an occupational illness, or were injured due to a workplace tragedy.

Great strides have been made in health and safety because of the commitment and dedication of those who fight for workplace health and safety. Through our renewed commitment to the continuous improvement of the health and safety program, we honour the 144 Albertans, and the many other people across Canada, who lost their lives to work-related illness or injury in 2025.

Therefore, Mayor PJ Stasko hereby proclaims April 28, 2026, as the Day of Mourning throughout the City of Camrose.
