July 10, 2026 Situation Update: Flooding and Residential Water Use Reduction
We are pleased to share that conditions across Camrose continue to improve and the City's emergency response is beginning to wind down.
The Wastewater Treatment Plant and South Lift Station have returned to normal operation, and the City's Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) has now been deactivated. While the emergency response has ended, City crews will continue inspections, repairs, cleanup, and monitoring in the days ahead.
Jubilee Park has now reopened! Most of the park is now safe to use. However, a few small areas beside the creek will remain fenced off while they continue to dry out and staff continue to monitor conditions. Please respect all fencing, barricades, and signs, and stay out of these closed areas.
Although conditions have improved, residents are still reminded to stay out of the creek and off the water. The current is still moving quickly, and creek banks may have been weakened by the flooding.
There is also good news at the Camrose Golf Course. As creek levels have continued to drop and staff confirmed there are no structural concerns with the bridges, Holes 5 and 6 have reopened. A temporary boardwalk will remain in place for walking golfers while a small amount of water remains in the area. Power cart users are asked to follow the clearly marked route, which is identified with ropes, flags, and signs.
If your basement has flooded, please take photos of any damage, contact your insurance provider, keep records of cleanup and repair costs, and complete the Camrose Flooding Impact Information Survey by July 20, 2026. This information helps the City better understand the impacts of this flooding event.
Thank you to staff, contractors, and the Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) for their hard work throughout this response. We also want to thank residents for your patience, cooperation, and support over the past few weeks. Your efforts helped our community get through this event safely!
