July 7, 2026 Situation Update: Flooding and Residential Water Use Reduction
We are encouraged to see conditions continuing to improve, but the situation is not yet over. City crews remain actively monitoring conditions, and some important safety precautions remain in place.
Jubilee Park remains CLOSED until further notice. Please do not enter the park or bypass barricades or closure signs. All other City parks and trails are now open, and we encourage residents to enjoy those spaces instead while Jubilee Park remains closed.
Residents are reminded to stay away from the creek and out of the water. The creek is still moving quickly, water levels remain high, and creek banks may have been weakened by recent flooding. Staying away from the water's edge is the safest choice, and residents are asked not to swim, kayak, canoe, paddleboard, or enter or go near the creek for any reason at this time.
The Camrose Golf Course has also experienced flooding impacts. Course conditions continue to change, and some holes may be unavailable or power cart access may be limited depending on conditions. Golfers are encouraged to call the clubhouse before their tee time for the latest course information.
Thank you to everyone who reduced non-essential water use over the past several days. Your efforts made a difference and helped reduce pressure on the City's wastewater system during a critical time. With flows now returning to more typical levels and the wastewater system operating well, residents can resume normal water use.
The City's Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) remains active as we continue to closely monitor conditions. We are also continuing to work closely with the Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) to ensure we are prepared to respond quickly should conditions change.
Work continues across the community as crews complete inspections, repairs, and cleanup. We are incredibly grateful to staff, contractors, and AEMA for their dedication throughout this event.
If your basement has flooded, you should document any damage, contact your insurance provider, keep a record of costs, and complete the Camrose Flooding Impact Information Survey. More information is available under the Frequently Asked Questions section at www.camrose.ca/flood.
