World Menstrual Health Day Proclamation

Menstrual Health Day is a global day of action that was initiated by the German non-profit WASH United in 2014 to raise awareness and change how the world perceives menstruation.

Canada has a federally registered charity called The Period Purse that works to achieve menstrual equity nation-wide by removing stigma and breaking down barriers to education and access to period supplies in communities across Canada.

Therefore, Mayor PJ Stasko on behalf of the City of Camrose, proclaims May 28, 2026 as Menstrual Health Day in the City of Camrose, encouraging residents to recognize the importance of menstrual health, dignity, and equity in our community.
