Junior Lifeguard Club

The Camrose Tsunamis Junior Lifeguard Club offers advanced swimmers an opportunity to continue to build their swimming skills while learning valuable lifesaving skills.  The club is split into two streams: competitive and recreational.  The competitive stream is geared for the swimmer who desires to compete at a regional, provincial or even national level.  The practices are intense and focus on swimming skills. Swimmers are expected to attend local, and provincial swimming competitions. The recreational stream equally focusses on swimming skills but offers a balance of in-class work that helps the swimmer achieve lifesaving courses that bridges the gap between the advanced courses such as Bronze Medallion and Cross or National Lifeguard.  There are two offerings of the Junior Lifeguard Club (September - December) and (January - April).  The competitive stream is only available to advanced swimmers who have demonstrated they are ready for competition.  The recreational stream is open to all swimmers aged 8 - 17 years.  The swimmer must have completed Swim Kids Level 4 and be able to successfully complete the Lifesaving Swim to Survive test.
