Youth Summer Camps

Our Summer Camp Philosophy

At the City of Camrose, our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming environment where kids can have fun, make new friends, and learn something new. Through games, crafts, outdoor adventures, and field trips, campers build confidence, explore their interests, and create lasting summer memories

More Information

City of Camrose Summer Camps are inclusive and welcome participants of all abilities. If your child has a disability, behavioural concern, medical condition, or requires additional support, please contact the Recreation Program Coordinator prior to registration and complete the applicable disclosure forms.

Our department is committed to providing safe, inclusive, and quality recreation opportunities. Accommodations and modifications may be available to help ensure a positive camp experience.

If your child requires an aide or educational support at school, we expect that support person to attend camp with them.

While the City of Camrose strives to ensure participation for all eligible individuals, it reserves the right to assess and evaluate participation to ensure a safe and positive experience for all campers.

Summer Camp is packed with exciting adventures both in and around Camrose! Campers enjoy regular outings to nearby parks and green spaces, giving them plenty of opportunities to explore, play, and connect with nature. We also visit local attractions such as the Centennial Museum, Railway Museum, Stoney Creek Centre, and other community destinations.

For even more adventure, we take special field trips to popular locations outside of Camrose, including K3 Farms, Thistle Hill Petting Farm, the Reynolds Museum, and Miquelon Lake. These fun and educational experiences help campers learn, discover, and create lasting summer memories while exploring all that our region has to offer

Themed Camp Weeks

Every week of Summer Camp brings a new adventure! Our themed weeks are designed to spark creativity, curiosity, and fun while giving campers exciting hands-on experiences, games, crafts, and activities.

Short Film Camp
Lights, camera, action! Campers will explore the world of filmmaking by creating their own short movies, learning about storytelling, acting, directing, and basic video production.

 Science Camp
Discover, experiment, and explore! Campers become young scientists through exciting hands-on experiments, STEM challenges, and fun activities that make learning science an adventure.

 Nature Camp
Get outdoors and connect with nature through hikes, wildlife exploration, outdoor games, nature crafts, and environmental activities that encourage curiosity about the natural world.

 History Camp
Travel through time as campers explore fascinating stories, historical events, cultures, and traditions through games, crafts, activities, and local historical experiences.

 Art Camp
Perfect for creative minds! Campers will experiment with a variety of artistic mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and more while creating unique take-home projects.

 Adventure Camp
Packed with excitement, Adventure Camp features outdoor exploration, team challenges, scavenger hunts, active games, and unforgettable experiences designed to build confidence and friendships.

No matter which week you choose, campers can look forward to making new friends, learning new skills, and creating lasting summer memories!

Please note: Camp themes, daily activities, special events, and field trips are subject to change based on availability, weather, guest presenters, and other scheduling considerations. While we strive to provide all advertised experiences, adjustments may be made to ensure the best possible camp experience for participants.

Looking to gain valuable leadership experience? Youth ages 13-15 may have the opportunity to volunteer with our Summer Camp programs! This is a great way to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and gain hands-on experience working with children in a fun and supportive environment.

Please check the Programs & Courses Guide to see if a LeaderProgram is being offered, or contact Recreation Services for more information. We encourage interested youth to get involved and take the first step toward future employment and volunteer opportunities with the City of Camrose Creative Programs and Camps
